After the Exercises
Living the Fifth Week
After the Exercises is a spiritual community for individuals who have completed the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. This program provides an opportunity to continue deepening the graces of the Exercises by living out what Ignatius called the "Fifth Week"—the ongoing call to companionship with Christ in daily life.
Participants meet twice a month in small, trusted groups to cultivate community, support one another in faith, and grow more deeply in Ignatian spirituality. Rooted in prayerful reflection and mutual listening, these gatherings provide space to share how the transformative experience of the Exercises is unfolding in everyday life—at home, at work, in relationships, and in service to others.
Each session includes time for prayer, reflection on Ignatian themes, and spiritual conversation. Members explore how the tools of discernment, the Examen, and contemplative living continue to shape their choices and awareness of God's presence in the world. The group also provides a framework of accountability and encouragement to live as contemplatives in action—men and women grounded in love, attentive to grace, and ready to labor with Christ in all things.
After the Exercises is not a course or curriculum, but a shared pilgrimage—a way to stay connected to others who have journeyed through the Exercises and now seek to integrate its graces more fully into their lives. Together, we strive to become ever more the persons God created us to be—fully alive and deeply engaged in God's ongoing mission of love and justice in the world.
